iOS in Simple Terms
iOS (originally iPhoneOS) is an operating system for Apple’s suite of mobile devices. Globally, it is the second most popular mobile operating system after Android, though iOS still maintains a majority of market share in the United States.
Released in 2007 alongside the first iPhone, iOS enables the 2+ million iOS apps – apps built in both Swift and Objective-C. Since its initial release, evolutions in iOS drive technological advances that allow app developers to explore the limits of iPhone hardware.
Untold builds a wide variety of applications for iOS (as well as iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS X, and CarPlay). Whether that’s enterprise-wide communication tools, augmented reality (AR) prototypes, or community-based apps, our team builds apps within the iOS ecosystem to deliver solutions to clients of all sizes.
